MeYou

MeYou Thai Eatery, as you might have guessed, is a small local Thai restaurant located on 8162 Big Bend Blvd, Webster Groves. They offer a variety of Thai cuisine ranging from curries to stir fries, all equally mouth watering. A couple of friends and I decided to hit up this spot after an intense game of badminton at Lindenwood Park, and we were pleasantly surprised with everything there. First of all, the customer service at this establishment was over the top. Every server and worker there was very friendly to us and gave us ample time to take a look at all of their delicious choices. Our waiter, especially, was so sweet and helpful when it came time to pick out our dishes.

She was very patient with us when it came time to picking out our dinner and gave us an overview of her personal recommendations. She took her time to explain each dish well and WHY it was the general favorites. I appreciate her patience and how happy she was to give us the best she can offer. Since there were four of us, we listened to her recommendations of the Kao Soi, which consisted of egg noodles topped with Chiang Mai curry sauce as well as pickled mustard greens, red and green onions, cilantro, and crispy egg noodles, the Basil Fried Rice which has its signature sweet basil and other vegetables, the Hung Ley Curry with its rich broth and tender chicken, and lastly, Crispy Chicken tossed in orange sauce.

Although the place is quite small and the inside isn’t the most decorated, the outside seating makes up for everything. It’s small but well-kept patio area gave us a good view on the street and the line of different stores surrounding MeYou. It might be biased, but since we ate during the early evening, the skies turning into a beautiful purple tint and the comfortable weather just further added onto our experience with this place. The food was served quickly and the smells were heavenly. For my own dish, I was actually quite surprised it turned out, not expecting it to be quite as saucy. I enjoyed my dish, however I feel like it felt quite bland compared to the other dishes, only really tasting the spice and the strong basil flavor. The Kao Soi and Hung Ley Curry, however, tell a different story. Although very different, both of the curry-like broths were amazing in its own ways. The Kao Soi was sweet, savory, and creamy and had a slight hint of coconut as well. The noodles were amazing as well, perfectly cooked. The Hung Ley Curry’s chicken was on another level. It was so tender that it would literally melt in your mouth. The curry and the roasted peanuts paired so well with the rice that was naturally given to us as well. Overall, with MeYou’s outstanding and welcoming customer service and their amazing dishes that provide so many tastes and flavors, this is definitely a must try!
